The Zimwi is a term for demon in Swahili, and is actually feared by all of Kenya. In Swahilian mythology the Zimwi is feared and dreaded that is used to scare children in staying home during a full moon.

In Bantu mythology the Zimwi is refered as an ogre like being that eats humans for any meal, in Swahili it means demon that it haunts any being or creature of darkness that has eight legs and antennae on it's head to detect any common prey. In Hauza mythology it is a child story of a demon on the rock beckening a child to come closer because it can't hear what he or she says.
