In Dharmic religions and New Age movement; Yajatá (Sanskrit: यजत) is a generic term for all celestial beings (apsarases, gandharvas, devas, yakshas, angels etc.). They are known as yazatas in the Avesta and yazads/izidan in the Shahnameh.
Yajata and Deva[]
Since deva means a shiner (with a celestial sheen) or more literally a person from the sky or above and yajata means worthy for reverance and esteem, they might be used interchageably. The diff is that a deva is used sometimes for a specific Celestial being.
