*Wariḫu /wa.ri.χu/ is also reconstracted as *Wariḵu /wa.ri.xu/ (both are transliterated as Warikhu , angelicised as Warikh or Warich) is the original moon god in Semitic religion and the origin of Levantine Yarikh, Akkadian Sin, North Arabian Ta'lab, and South Arabian El-Maqah. He is borrowed from or into Hamaitic Thoth or both share an unknown Afroasiatic origin. He also shares an unknown Indo-Semitic origin with the Proto-Indo-European god *Meh1not and a Borean one with Sumerian Nannar.
