Wadjyt or Wadjet, also known as Uto or Buto to the Greeks, is the Egyptian goddess of cobras, papyri and protector of Lower Egypt. She was sometimes portrayed with a snake head and/or wearing the uraeus. Her Upper Egyptian counterpart is her sister, Nekhbet.
