Spartans

The Spartans were Achaeans who lived in Sparta, the capital of the realm is Lacadeamon, or Laconia. Spartans, however, usually mean the latter as well.

Spartan Worship

Spartans were Achaeans and as such worshipped the Greek gods, but their worship was mostly directed to the city's patron Ares, the god of war, because of this their culture was mostly based around the subject of war. Spartans were a well trained, militaristic city that's main focus was on the war effort, whether there was a war or not.

Spartan warriors ate a very strict diet consisting of something known as 'black broth' which, although disgusting, is nutritious. they also heavily focused on training, from birth Spartan children are selected and checked for deformities, if they are healthy they are excepted into the army and start there training at a young age. their most well known training technique was to send children into the woods and let them fend for themselves for a selected period of time.

All of their brutal training was to appease there patron, Ares who demanded of them only the best, as such they became the best (land based) army in all of Greece. they were also the only city that praised Ares, seeing him as a fearless warrior. but the rest of the Greeks see what he represents, the brutalities of war, and also a coward who cried like a little bitch when Diomedes threw a spear into his chest. seriously dude it's just a spear in your chest walk it off.
