Saturn was the Roman Titan of agriculture, time, wealth and investment money known as Capital.

Family[]

His consort was Ops and his children are Ceres, Juno, and Jupiter, but he was also the son of Caelus (who was a sky father) and Terra (an earth goddess).

Mythology[]

Cronus[]

The history of Saturn and Cronus are pretty-similar, as both overthrew their parents, also they devoured their children except the youngest, and participated in the Titanomachy, but the the biggest difference being is that Saturn was forgiven by Jupiter (or in some cases Saturn gave his title of King of the Gods willingly to Jupiter) and became the first king of Italy/Rome, while Cronus was sent to Tartarus by Zeus.

Etymology[]

The name Saturn has no origin in the Proto-Indo-European language, but his name presumably comes from the Etruscan god Satre.
