Onigashima

Onigashima ("island of oni/ogres") was a mythical island visited by the folktale character Momotarō. Today, the island is believed to be identified as Megijima, an island located in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan, north of the city of Takamatsu, and is part of Kagawa Prefecture. When Momotaro, a pheasant and a spotted dog arrived on the island, they could see that the ogres had a very strong fort there. There were many ogres of different colors; red, blue and green. Momotaro defeated the ogres and brought back their treasure.
