Olympos (Ancient Greek: Ὄλυμπος Olumpos) is a mountain-god of Anatolia in Phrygia (modern Turkey). He was an inventor of the flute and the father of flute-playing Satyrs.
He was an Ouros (singular of Ourea, the mountain gods), and along with his brothers and sisters they were the offspring of Gaia.
The Phrygian Mount Olympos should not be confused with the Thessalian mountain of the same name which was the home of the Olympian gods.
Mythology[]
The Phrygian Mount Olympos is a mythical mountain at least, as there is no mountain in Phrygia that has been historically called Olympos.
His relationship with Marsyas is vague and contradicting but still is often mention with him by poets. He is said by other authors to be lover of Marsyas.[1]a friend and a pupil[2][3], or more commonly the father or son of Marsyas
