The Daughters of Ægir and Rán are the nine daughters of Ægir and Rán, who represent the waves. They are Bára (or Drǫfn), Blóðughadda, Bylgja, Dúfa, Hefring, Himinglæva, Hrǫnn, Kólga, and Unnr.
They are theorised to be the nine mothers attributed to Heimdallr, but in the Hyndluljóð, the mothers are given the names of gýgjar, often attributed to other, better known giantesses such as Járnsaxa.
