Neit or Neith is an Ancient Egyptian goddess of war and hunt. She was the patron of Sais, or Zau. She was sometimes portrayed as the wife of either Set or Khnum and the mother of Sobek and Serket.

Neith was the mother Sobek and Serket, and wife of Khnum, in some scoures Neith was the the daughter Nu or Ptah, in the new Egyptian empire Neith and her consort Khnum were become into the parends of Ra and Apep.
In this case the rivalary between Ra and Apep is similar to others rivaralies between siblings like: the Zoroastrians Ahura Mazda and Ahriman, the Mesopotamians Enlil and Enki or Inanna/Ishtar and Ereshkigal, the Helenistics Zeus (Jupiter) and Poseidon (Neptune), and by extention the Neith´s role is similar to others deities like: Zurvan, Anu, Rhea. Where the progenitor does not get into the enmity of their children.
Etymology[]
The Name Neith is the Greeknization of the Egyptian word Nārāt, (Modern Egyptology Neret) that means she is the terrifying one.
