The fish Medjed
Medjed is an elephant family fish. This fish was worshiped in the city of Axiranz during the time of ancient Egypt. In order to gain the throne of the Egyptian god Osiris, his brother Set kills Osiris and throws his body into the river. The goddess Isis joins the fragmented parts of Osiris. But then only the penis was not found. It is believed that these fish ate the penis of the scattered Osiris. As a solution in Upper Egypt, this species of fish was named Per-Medjed. It is currently known as Oxirangus in Greek.
