In Greek mythology, Macaria is the goddess of the funerals and a chthonic goddess.
In Greek mythology[]
Macaria ('μακαρία', truly 'blessed') is named within the Suda. Concurring to the Suda, this Macaria is the daughter of Hades and Persephone. She appears to have been a goddess of the blessed dea; the Suda interfaces her title to the figure of discourse "be gone to blessedness," rather than misery or condemnation, which may be euphemistic, within the way that the dead are alluded to as "the favored ones." The express was world renowned for those whose strength imperiled them.
