Ladon was a serpent-like Dragon in Greek Mythology, and the offspring of Ceto and Phorcys. Ladon twisted around the tree in the Garden ofHesperides, guarding the Golden Apples that grew there. Heracles eventually defeated Ladon to obtain a golden apple.

Debate[]

Some have labeled Ladon as the child of Typhon and Echidna, or of Gaia herself, rather than of Ceto and Phorcys.
