Koguhpuk

The Koguhpuk is a huge mammal from Inuit mythology. It lives underground to avoid rays from the sun, and only returns above ground during winter. Remnants of ancient mammoths are said to be the carcasses of Koguhpuk who were burnt by the sun. Some think the creature is folk memory of woolly mammoths.
