Khutulun (c. 1260 – c. 1306), also known as Aigiarne, Aiyurug, Khotol Tsagaan or Ay Yaruq, her father was Kaidu both a Khan ruler of Chagatai Khanate and grandchildren of Ögedei Khan, was an important mongol princess was descripted both by Marco Polo and Rashid al-Din Hamadani in them respectives works.
Overview[]
Khutulun born in Khotol Tsagaan 1260 as Aiyurug, being the favorite of her father Kaidu, who later becomes into the most powerful Khan from the Chagatai Khanate, in the historical chronicles, Khutulun was described as a strong warrior princess who participated in the Mongol military campaigns in Central Asia. She was trained in shooting, wrestling and riding since her childhood. Later, when she grew up, she became a skilled wrestler who defeated elite male warriors in traditional wrestling competitions. Khutulun was a hero, chronicled by many medieval authors, one of whom was Marco Polo.
Abouth the Khutulun´s love life is a mystery, some sources tell that the husban of Khutulun was a handsome man who fall in love, who failed to assassinate her father and was taken prisoner; others refer to him as Kaidu's companion from the Choros clan. Rashid al-Din Hamadani wrote a book in where was stated that Khutulun married with Ghazan the Il khan of Persia who was descent of Genghis Khan too. But other sources affirm that Khutulun never married.
Between all Kaidu´s children Khutulun was his favorite, even Kaidu tries that Khutulun was his successor, but that´s never happened, When Kaidu died, Khutulun guarded his tomb with the assistance of her brother Orus. She was challenged by her other brothers including Chapar and relative Duwa because she resisted their succession. She died in 1306.

Due to beauty she had many suitors, but Khutulun affirm that to marry one of her suitors, she would have to be defeated in combat. But at the end She defeat all her suitors and thus getting 10K horses.
