The Ireltxo can present is as a species of pig, although it is distinguished by its something strange, almost human-like behaviour and certain features. It may also be in the form of a Donkey, Bird or Ram.
When someone tries to the pursue them, they will lead humans off the road until they are lost, and may even lead them to places that end abruptly in ravines, cliffs or deep chasms.
