Inanna is ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, sex, beauty, war, political power and justice. She is also known as Ishtar, the Queen of Heaven.
She was worshipped by the Sumerians as Inanna, and then by the Akkadians, Babylonians and Assyrians as Ishtar.
Myths & Legends[]
She was trapped in the Underworld by Ereshkigal, its queen, until she sacrificed her husband Dumuzid to escape.
Family[]
She is the sister of Utu and Ereshkigal. She is the daughter of Nannar and Ningal.
