In Greek mythology Inachus (Ancient Greek: Ἴναχος) was the first king of Argos, after whom the Inachus River is named after. He was one of the 3,000 Potamoi sons of Oceanus and Tethys and had many children; the most notable being his son Phoroneus, the first king and founder of the city of Argos, and daughter, Io. He is the husband and brother of the Oceanid nymph Melia or Argia.
