The main Greek Wind Gods, or the Anemoi, were the first four children of the Titans Astraeus and Eos. They were the elder siblings of the Astra Planeta. They were renamed in Roman mythology as the Venti. Their female counterpart called Aellae.

Boreas[]
Boreas was the North Wind and god of Winter as Kheimon. He was the husband of Oreithiya and father of Chione, goddess of the snow. His sons were the Argonauts Zetes and Calais and he lived in Thrace. The Romans renamed him as Aquilo .
The North Wind was also called Aparctias by other Greeks in which case the Romans then call this other figure as Septentrio.
Notus[]
Notus is the South Wind and a god of Summer as Theron. He resided in Aethiopia. The Romans called him Auster.
Zephyrus[]
Zephyrus was the West Wind and god of Spring as Eiar. As god of springtime, he was the husband of Chloris (goddess of greenery) and father of Carpus (the god of fruit). He resided somewhere in Iberia, near the Garden of the Hesperides. He was renamed in Roman myth as Favonius.
Eurus[]
Eurus was the East Wind and Autumn as Phthinoporon. He resided near the Palace of Helios in Anatolia. The Romans called him Vulturnus. He is sometimes called the god of the southeast wind.

Kaikas[]
Kaikas was the northeast wind. He was known in Roman myth as Caecus.
Apeliotus[]
Apeilotus was the southeast wind. The Romans knew him as Subsolanus. He is sometimes called the god of the east wind.
Argestes[]
Argestes was the northwest wind, the Athenians called him Sciron or Olympias due to his relation to the Scironian Rocks and Mt. Olympus. The Romans knew him as Corus.
Lips[]
Lips was the god of the southwest wind he was named as such because the southwest wind comes from Libya. In Roman myth, he was renamed Africus.

Meses[]
Meses was the god of the north northeast wind.
There is no Roman name for him as they consider Aquilo the north northeast wind, Septentrio as the North Wind, and Caecus as the northeast wind.
Euronotus[]
Euronotus was the god of the the south southeast wind, locally he is called Phoenicias, 'the one blowing from Phoenicia', due to this land lying to the southeast of Greece. He is called Euroauster to the Romans.
Libonotus[]
Libonotus was the god of the south southwest wind, he is also called Leuconotos or Libophoenix. He is called Austro-Africus to the Romans.
Thrascias[]
Thrascias was the god of the north northwest wind. He is called Circius to the Romans.

Aura[]
Aura was a daughter of Oceanus and was the goddess of breezes. She was sometimes split into multiple nymphs; the Aurae.
