The Faceless Phantom of Venice is an unpopular myth that started in Venice, Italy. It follows a human having the powers of a Phantom and has a cat named Lucifer, believed to be the Devil's Cat. The Faceless Phantom is a tall, clothed figure mostly seen in black clothes and with a cape, and he hates rich people, and people in love. He is thought to steal from lovers and rich people in Venice, and will bring misfortune.

Appearance[]

While works like Nancy Drew depicts him as a cape-less thief with no powers and a green mask, and Scooby-Doo depicts it as a purple floating phantom with a black descendant face, the real Faceless Phantom wears a white mask with nothing underneath it and wears black, weavy clothes with red textures. It also has a black hat believed to be filled with "cards of misfortune". While some people at the Venice Carnival depict him with renaissance clothes and bird masks, this is actually far from it. It is unknown what attire he wears under the black clothes, but it's mostly depicted with black pants and polished brown shoes.
