Eurynome (Greek: Εὐρῠνόμη) was a deity of ancient Greek religion worshipped at a sanctuary near the confluence of rivers called the Neda and the Lymax in classical Peloponnesus. She was represented by a statue of what we would call a mermaid. Tradition, as reported by the Greek traveler, Pausanias, identified her with the Oceanid, or “daughter of Ocean”, of Greek poetry. She was the third wife of Zeus and was the mother of the three Charites (Euphrosyne, Thaleia, Aglaea) by him.
