Deidamia (Ancient Greek: Δηϊδάμεια Deïdameia) is a princess of Scyros, as one of seven daughters of King Lycomedes. She is the mother of Neoptolemus and Oneiros by Achilles.
Mythology[]
Achilles was hidden, in disguise under the name Pyrrha, among the daughters of Lycomedes by his mother Thetis to prevent him from going to war and dying young. While hidden, he became intimate with Deidamia. When Odysseus came and recruited Achilles, he left Deidamia and their two sons behind. Their older son Neoptolemus later joined the war after Achilles' death, against Deidamia's wishes.
