Philippine mythology includes a collection of tales and superstitions about magical creatures and entities. Some Filipinos, though heavily Christianized and Westernized. still believe these tales. The prevalence of belief in the figures of Philippine mythology is strong in the provinces. Because the county's islands are inhabited by several ethnic groups, Philippine mythology is very diverse. However, there are certain similarities, such as the belief in Heaven (kaluwalhatian, kalangitan, kamurawayan), Hell (impiyerno, kasamaan) and the human soul (kaluluwa).
