In the belief of the Pueblo Native Americans of southwestern United States, the kachina is the masked spirit of nature, or the spirit of the ancestors of the Hopi , Zuni and other Pueblo peoples. The Kachina is asked to act as a mediator between the gods and the people and cause rain to fall on the earth.
