Bia was the titan goddess or personified spirit (daimona) of force and power.

Myths & Legends[]

She represented force and power, specifically spiritual might and bodily strength, and strength of will or compulsion. She and her siblings were the winged enforcers of Zeus who stood in attendance by his throne, similar to the Norse Valkyries.

During the Titanomachy, the war between the Titans and the Olympians out of which the latter emerged victorious, Bia and her siblings sided with Zeus, along with Styx. To honour them, Zeus made the four siblings his constant companions.

Family[]

Her parents were Pallas and Styx, and she had three siblings who were also personifications: Nike (Victory), Cratus/Kratos (Strength), and Zelus (Rivalry).
