Animikii

Animikii (ah-nih-mih-key) means Thunderbird in Anishinaabemowin. Thunderbird and is a very powerful and respected being in Ojibwe culture; thunder is created from the beating of the bird's wings. Animikii literally means "thunderer," and Binesi means "the great bird."
