Amon (also spelled Aamon or Nahum) is a Marquis of Hell. He is the seventh of the 72 Goetic demons who governs forty infernal legions. He appears as a wolf with a snake's tail who can breathe fire, or as a man with dog's teeth who is situated inside of a raven, or as a raven-headed man.

Collin de Plancy took the artistic liberty of compressing Amon's two forms into one with the head of a dog-teethed raven, the body of a wolf, and a snake tail in place of its back legs.
At the command of a mage, Amon may take the shape of man with a raven's head, having teeth of a canine. He tells of all things past and future. He procures love and reconciles controversies between friends and foes.
Some demonologists have associated his name with the Egyptian god Amun or with the god Baal Hammon of Carthage.
Amon in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum[]
The Pseudomonarchia daemonum, or False Monarchy of Demons, by the Dutch occultist Johann Weyer, was published as an appendix to his book titled De praestigiis daemonum, or On the Tricks of Demons, in 1577. The description of Amon from the Pseudomonarchia daemonum is as follows:

Amon in the Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis (Ars Goetia)[]
The Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis or Lesser Key of Solomon is an anonymously written book of demonology that is believed to have been complied sometime during the 17th century CE. The work is divided into five books, the first of which, known as the Ars Goetia, lists 72 demons. The Ars Goetia is heavily based off of Johann Weyer's Pseudomonarchia daemonum.
In 1904, the British occultist and founder of the religion of Thelema, Aleister Crowley, published a version of the Lesser Key of Solomon which was translated by another British occultist, Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, and contained additional invocations added by Crowley. The Ars Goetia's passage on Amon from the 1904 version is as follows:

He appeareth like a Wolf with a Serpent’s tail, vomiting out of his mouth flames of fire; but at the command of the Magician he putteth on the shape of a Man with Dog’s teeth beset in a head like a Raven; or else like a Man with a Raven’s head (simply). He telleth all things Past and to Come. He procureth feuds and reconcileth controversies between friends. He governeth 40 Legions of Spirits. His Seal is this which is to be worn as aforesaid, etc.[2] | ” |
Amon in the Dictionnaire Infernal[]
The Infernal Dictionary is a book of demonology written in 1818 by the French occultist Jacques Auguste Simon Collin de Plancy. The entry for Amon is as follows:
| “ | Amon, or Aamon, great and powerful marquis of the infernal empire. He has the figure of a wolf, with a serpent's tail; he vomits flame; when he takes human form, he has only the body of man; his head resembles that of an owl and his beak reveals very sharp canine teeth. He is the most solid of the princes of the demons. He knows the past and the future, and reconciles, when he wishes, estranged friends. He commands forty legions. The Egyptians saw in Amon or Amoun their supreme God; they represented him with blue skin, in a fairly human form.[3] | ” |
