Alpen (singular: alp, literally: elves or incubi, Proto-Germanic *albiz) are creatures linked to both vampires and incubi. Their ties to vampires come from the stories of alpen drinking blood while their ties to incubi come from the alpen's behavior because they act like an incubi. Their female counterparts are the mares.
