This article is about the shark-shaped daimon. For the Greek river god, see Achelous.

In Greek mythology, Akheilos could transform into a shark. He also stated that he was fairer than Aphrodite .

Iliad

Akheilos saved Ajax the Lesser from death, which was decreed by the goddess Athena. Akheilos was ultimately killed by her and his power was then bestowed to Poseidon.

It was said that Akheilos was the son of Lamia and Zeus.
