Žemyna also know as Žemynėlė or Žemelė, is the Baltic Earth Mother Godess, she is the wife of Perkūnas or Praamžius, she had an importan role in
the Baltic cosmogony, her image was influence by the Virgin Mary.

Etymology[]
The name Žemyna evoluves from the Proto-Indo-European Goddesses Dʰéǵʰōm, besides Žemyna is related to Thracian Zemele.
Role[]
The Žemyna´s role is conect the land with the fertility, she was also associated with receiving the dead and acting as their ruler and guardian. In the Baltic Peoples is seen as the mother of humanity and their final abode after death.
Family[]
in the vast majority of sources Žemyna is the wife of Perkūnas (Thunder God), but in other sources her husband was Praamžius (manifestation of chief heavenly god Dievas), thus forming the classical coup of Mother Earth Godess and Sky Father.

Exist an album titled Giesmės Žemynai, meaning "Hymns to Žemyna", came out of a collaboration between Kūlgrinda and Donis.
Culture[]
In the culture of many Baltic countries for festivals and holydays are strongly influenced by the pagan ritual dedicated to Žemyna.
