Hi RavioLorule,
Yes the focus of this site is mythology and folklore. This includes characters and creatures from myths, as well primary texts when available. Also included are literature and media based on or inspired by mythology and folklore.
This means that article pages can be made on classical literature such as Paradise Lost, Dante's Inferno, Journey to the West, or Dracula, because they all draw from folklore or mythology of some kind. An important stipulation is that such article pages need to have a section in the article explicitly discussing how the literature in question draws from mythology and folklore. Also, such pages need to have hyperlinks to any other article pages that are relevant. For example, the page for the novel Dracula should have a link to the vampire page and so on.
This would also extend theoretically to anime and manga as well. Though, people should not be adding anime pages just for the sake of cataloguing anime pages. Each and every anime page needs to be justified based off of the criteria posted above. If not, the anime pages need to be flagged so that they can be either edited to fit the criteria, or deleted.
One of the other Bureaucrats, @SJB1995 has been taking the lead on literature and media related to mythology and folklore. He's asked me repeatedly for clarification if certain anime pages were okay and I've been repeatedly stating something along the lines of:
"...as long as the page for the anime discusses how the anime is related to or influenced by various types of mythology and folklore, I see no problem with it."
Though, I haven't been able to check to see if this is actually being done with each and every anime or manga page. Hopefully SJB will see this message as well to clarify things, and whether or not it's being done. Hopefully this post will make the expectations about literature and media pages on this site a little more clear for everyone.
Thank you RavioLorule for your concerns and for bringing this to my attention.
